Seedance 2.0 vs VEO 3.1 vs Kling 3.0: Cost, Limits and Real Success Rates (2026)

By Viralance Team
·October 16, 2026·10 min·Comparisons
Quick answer: On Viralance, VEO 3.1 makes 4, 6 or 8-second clips at 720p or 1080p (from 3 credits on Lite, 6 on Fast), Kling 3.0 makes 5, 10 or 15-second clips at 1080p (from 8 credits on Standard, 10 on Pro), and Seedance 2.0 makes 5, 10 or 15-second clips at 480p, 720p or 1080p (from 10 credits). In 615 real generations on Viralance, VEO 3.1 Fast delivered 98% of jobs, Kling 3.0 Pro 26 of 26, Kling 3.0 Standard 89%, VEO 3.1 Lite 88% and Seedance 2.0 79% (the Kling and Seedance samples are small). Pick VEO 3.1 for short clips and cheap 1080p, Kling 3.0 for 1080p shots up to 15 seconds, and Seedance 2.0 for talking characters, extra aspect ratios and up to 9 reference images.

Background. Google DeepMind released Veo 3.1 on October 15, 2025, with richer native audio and support for up to 3 reference images (Google Developers Blog); Veo 3.1 Lite followed on March 31, 2026 at "less than 50% of the cost of Veo 3.1 Fast" (Google). ByteDance launched Seedance 2.0 on February 12, 2026, taking up to 9 images, 3 video clips and 3 audio clips as input and returning up to 15 seconds of multi-shot video with stereo sound (ByteDance Seed). Kuaishou launched the Kling 3.0 series in February 2026 with native audio in several languages and multi-shot storytelling.

This page compares the five variants as they work inside Viralance's editor. Costs were checked against the live catalog on September 30, 2026; the editor always shows the final cost before you generate. It replaces our earlier two-way comparisons of VEO and Seedance.

Notes from the editor, not the spec sheets:

  • Seedance rejects photos of real people as image or reference inputs. ByteDance runs a likeness filter; the editor warns you and points you to VEO 3.1 or Kling 3.0 for faces. Use AI-generated characters, products or illustrations as Seedance references.
  • VEO 3.1 Fast image-to-video and reference-to-video run at 8 seconds in the editor. VEO 3.1 Lite accepts 4, 6 or 8-second photo animations.
  • Photos of people need consent on every model. Image-to-video and reference-to-video ask you to confirm you have permission to animate the person. Public figures are blocked.

The full grid:

  • VEO 3.1 Lite: 3 / 4 / 5 credits at 720p and 4 / 6 / 8 at 1080p (4 / 6 / 8s).
  • VEO 3.1 Fast: 6 / 8 / 12 at 720p or 1080p (4 / 6 / 8s); 1080p costs the same as 720p since October 1, 2026.
  • Kling 3.0 Standard: 8 / 14 / 22 (5 / 10 / 15s, 1080p).
  • Kling 3.0 Pro: 10 / 18 / 28 (5 / 10 / 15s, 1080p).
  • Seedance 2.0: 10 / 20 / 30 at 480p, 12 / 24 / 36 at 720p and 28 / 55 / 82 at 1080p (5 / 10 / 15s).

Per second of 1080p footage: 1 credit on VEO 3.1 Lite, 1.5 on VEO 3.1 Fast, about 1.5 on Kling 3.0 Standard (15s), about 1.9 on Kling 3.0 Pro (15s) and about 5.5 on Seedance 2.0. For 1080p longer than 8 seconds, Kling 3.0 is the cheaper of the options that can do it in one take.

Packs are one-time purchases from $9 (Mini, 30 credits) to $299 (Business, 1,650 credits). There is no subscription and credits never expire. New accounts get 4 free credits after verifying their email: enough for a VEO 3.1 Lite test, but not a 5-second Kling 3.0 Standard clip (8 credits) or the cheapest Seedance 2.0 clip. See pricing.

How often each model delivered on Viralance

We published aggregate records of 615 text-to-video and image-to-video generations made by 360 people on Viralance between January 29 and October 1, 2026, with test, admin and internal accounts excluded (full dataset and method). The rows for these five:

How to read this, and how not to:

  • It is observational, not a controlled test. Users chose their own prompts, photos, durations and resolutions, so the models never ran the same inputs. It says nothing about visual quality.
  • Refusals reflect what people asked for, not only model strictness. Jobs that start from a photo, especially of a person, are refused more often; Lite and Kling 3.0 Standard were mostly photo jobs. Seedance's refusals include real-person likeness rejections and audio-policy refusals.
  • The Kling and Seedance samples are small. 19 to 28 generations give wide intervals, and Kling 3.0 Pro and Seedance 2.0 each come from only a handful of people, so treat those columns as indicative. Kling 3.0 Pro's 26 of 26 means "no failures seen so far", not "never fails".
  • Wait time is queue plus generation. It depends on the provider's load that day and on clip length; Kling Pro and Seedance jobs were often longer clips.
  • Failed jobs are refunded automatically. A refusal costs you the wait and a rewrite, not credits.

If you only need new dialogue on a finished clip, the Lip Sync tool re-times mouths to your own audio and works with output from any of these models.

A fair same-brief test (37 credits)

One output per model is an anecdote. This plan is more than the 30-credit Mini pack; the $19 Plus pack (70 credits) covers it with room for a second round.

  1. Fix the variables. 9:16, audio on, the same prompt. Write one shot with one action and one line of sound, for example: "A glass bottle of cold brew on a marble counter. A hand slides it toward the camera and it stops next to a lemon. Slow push-in, morning light, soft café ambience. One continuous shot, no on-screen text."
  2. Run four jobs. VEO 3.1 Lite at 8s, 720p (5 credits), VEO 3.1 Fast at 8s, 720p (12), Kling 3.0 Standard at 5s (8) and Seedance 2.0 at 5s, 720p (12): 37 credits. Kling and Seedance can't do 8 seconds, so compare motion per second rather than total length.
  3. Record the wait from submit to delivery, plus any refusal. A refused job is refunded; note it and rerun once with audio off.
  4. Score each clip from 1 to 5 on prompt adherence (hand, slide, stop), physics (liquid, reflections), label legibility, audio sync, and anything you would have to cut.
  5. Repeat with a prompt from your real use case, such as a person speaking or a product rotating. Test image-to-video separately, and remember Seedance needs a photo without a real person in it.
  6. Re-render only the winner at 1080p, at full length, or on Kling 3.0 Pro if Standard won.

When not to use Viralance for this

  • You need Veo 4K, first-and-last-frame control or long chained extensions. Google offers these in the Gemini API (Veo docs). Viralance offers 720p and 1080p and a single 7-second extension.
  • You need Seedance's video or audio references. ByteDance's model accepts video and audio clips as references; Viralance's editor accepts images only.
  • You need one take longer than 15 seconds. Use Seedance 2.5 (up to 30 seconds).
  • You generate thousands of clips through code. Direct provider pricing may work out cheaper per second than prepaid credits. Viralance's REST API and MCP server use the same credits as the web app, which suits smaller automated workloads and AI agents.

Frequently asked questions

Which is best: Seedance 2.0, VEO 3.1 or Kling 3.0? None wins every job. VEO 3.1 is the cheapest and delivered most reliably in our data for clips up to 8 seconds. Kling 3.0 gives 1080p single takes up to 15 seconds at a lower price than Seedance 2.0. Seedance 2.0 has the most aspect ratios, up to 9 reference images and lip-synced speech. Run the 37-credit test above on your own brief.

Which is cheapest? VEO 3.1 Lite: 3 credits for 4 seconds at 720p. The cheapest Kling 3.0 clip is 8 credits (Standard, 5s, 1080p) and the cheapest Seedance 2.0 clip is 10 credits (5s, 480p).

Which makes the longest single take? Kling 3.0 and Seedance 2.0 both reach 15 seconds; VEO 3.1 stops at 8. For 30 seconds in one take, use Seedance 2.5.

How long does each take to generate? Median waits on Viralance were 2.3 minutes for VEO 3.1 Fast, 2.5 for VEO 3.1 Lite, 2.7 for Kling 3.0 Standard and 4.5 for both Kling 3.0 Pro and Seedance 2.0. One in ten Kling 3.0 Pro jobs took longer than 8.8 minutes, and one in ten Seedance 2.0 jobs longer than 9.6.

Why was my Seedance job refused? Usually because a source or reference photo shows a real person, or because the generated audio was refused. Use a non-photographic reference or switch audio off and try again. Refused jobs are refunded.

What is the difference between Kling 3.0 Standard and Pro? Price and one feature: Standard costs 8/14/22 credits and Pro 10/18/28 credits for 5/10/15 seconds, and only Pro has reference-to-video. See Kling 3.0 Standard vs Pro.
