How much does the VEO 3.1 API cost per video?
Through the Viralance REST API, a VEO 3.1 clip costs exactly what it costs in the web app: VEO 3.1 Lite from 3 credits and VEO 3.1 Fast from 6 credits per clip (4 seconds, 720p). An 8-second 720p VEO 3.1 Fast clip is 12 credits — about $3.60 on the $9 Mini pack or $2.17 on the $299 Business pack. There is no API subscription, seat fee or markup; you spend credits from one-time packs, and failed jobs are refunded automatically.

- VEO 3.1 Fast 720p: 6/8/12 credits for 4/6/8s; 1080p: 6/8/12. Native audio included.
- VEO 3.1 Lite 720p: 3/4/5 credits for 4/6/8s; 1080p: 4/6/8.
- POST /v1/videos with model "veo3.1-fast" or "veo3.1-lite" returns 202 with the job id, creditCost and creditsRemaining; poll GET /v1/videos/{id} or receive a signed webhook.
- GET /v1/models returns every model with its exact credit cost per duration and resolution, so your code can quote the price before it spends.
- Credits cost $0.30 each on the Mini pack and $0.18 on the Business pack. They never expire.
- Each API key can carry a daily credit spend cap, an expiry date and an IP allowlist. Idempotency-Key makes retries safe.

Is the API priced differently from the web app?
No. The API has no separate plan and no markup: each call spends the same credits as the same action in the app, and the generation response includes creditCost and creditsRemaining.
Is this Google’s own Vertex AI / Gemini API?
No. Viralance is an independent platform that runs VEO 3.1 through fal.ai’s hosted model endpoints and bills per clip in Viralance credits. If you need a direct Google Cloud contract, use Google’s own API; Viralance fits when you want one key and one credit balance for VEO 3.1 plus Kling, Seedance, Hailuo and other models.
Can an AI agent call it?

What happens if a job fails?
